Japanese researchers report that mice with spinal cord injuries were able to regain some movement after the transplantation of dental pulp stem cells.  see http://www3.nhk.or.jp/daily/english/20111202_04.html.  A company called Geron has recently discontinued work doing something similar with stem cells.  It had been conducting safety trials on 4 patients.  see http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2011/nov/15/geron-abandons-stem-cell-therapy.
